Each summer, 40 young participants learn to address an issue of community concern through art, music, theater, video and clowning.

Our guiding belief is that by gaining confidence in self-expression, a young person lays a sturdy foundation for lifelong leadership in the community.

The Three C´s

Campers learn that it takes “courage,” “compassion,” and “creativity” to solve conflict.

Who we are

Artists from around Mexico and abroad guide our two-week program each year under the direction of an organization called La Bufón S.O.S.ial. Members of the Campamento’s local steering committee call themselves the pARTisanos.

Want to get involved?

The Campamento is based in a state-owned 17th century building, but otherwise receives no government or foundation support. We are entirely dependent on the continuing generosity of individual donors and on community members willing to pitch in while the Campamento is in session.
